Seserine . (Tablets)

 


Composition:
Each tablet contain:Sertraline HCI 56 mg.
(equivalent to Sertraline 50mg)


Properties:
Seserine (Sertraline hydrochloride) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) for oral administration.
It is chemically unrelated to other SSRIs, tricyclic, tetracyclic, or other available antidepressant agents.
Seserine (Sertraline hydrochloride) is a potent and selective inhibitor of neuronal serotonin
reuptake and has only very weak effects on norepinephrine and dopamine neuronal reuptake


Indications:
Seserine is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of depression in patients with or without history of mania.
- It is also indicated for the treatment of OCD (obsessive -compulsive disorder), Panic attacks, PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder), Generalized anxiety disorders.


Dosage Administration:
Once daily either in the morning or in the evening, with or without food. Dose range 50-150 mg

Contra Indications:
Sertraline should not be used in combination with an MAOI, or within 14 days of discontinuing treatment with an MAOI. Similarly, at least 14 days should be allowed after stopping Seserine before starting an MAOI.
• Seserine is contraindicated in patients with a hypersensitivity to sertraline.
• Driving and machinery operating : patients should be cautioned about operating hazardous machinery, including automobiles, until they are certain that sertraline therapy does not affect their ability to engage in such activities,


Precautions Warnings:
The safety & effectiveness of Sertraline in children have not been established.


Side Effects:
Nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia, tremor, dizziness, insomnia, somnolence, increase sweating, dry mouth, male sexual dysfunction (principally ejaculatory delay).
