ADWIFEN

Solution for injection

For Vet. Use

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic

adwifen

Composition:

Each 1 ml contains: tolfenamic acid:  40 mg

Properties:

Tolfenamic acid acts by inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, thereby exerting anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, analgesic and antipyretic properties. Anti-inflammatory activity of the tolfenamic acid is in particular due to inhibition of the cyclo-oxygenase leading to a reduction of the synthesis of prostaglandins and thromboxanes, important inflammatory mediators.

Indications:

Inflammation and pain, in cattle, pigs, & dogs and cats.

Dosage & administration:

Cattle:

For mastitis: 1 ml / 10 kg B.wt. as a single IV injection.

For bacterial respiratory disease: 1 ml / 20 kg B.wt. by IV injection, repeat once after 48 hours.

Pigs: 1 ml/20 kg B.wt. by I.M.I. as a single dose.

Dogs & cats: 1 ml/10 kg by S.C.I. (for dogs & cats) or (I.M.I. for dogs only).

May be repeated once only after 24 hours if required.

Warnings & Precautions:

1. Caution with use in animals less than 6 weeks of age or aged animals.

2. Avoid use in any dehydrated, hypovolaemic or hypotensive animal as there is a potential risk of increased renal toxicity.

3. Avoid concurrent administration of potentially nephrotoxic drugs, and plasma proteins bound drugs.

Withdrawal periods

Cattle:

Meat: 3 days

Milk: 24 hours (first milking after treatment should not be used for human consumption).

Pigs: Meat: 3 days

Storage condition:

Store below 30º C away form direct sun light and Keep out of the reach of children.

 

Packing:10, 25 ml,30, 50 ml, 100 ml & 250 ml vials + label & insert in carton box.
