Each 100 gm contains: Oxytetracycline: 100 gm



1.      Tetracyclines generally act as bacteriostatic antibiotics and inhibit protein synthesis by reversibly binding to 30S ribosomal subunits of susceptible organism.

1.      As a class, the tetrayclines have activity against most Mycoplasma, spirochetes Chlamydia, and Rickettsia.

2.      Against Gram-positive bacteria, the tetracyclines have activity against some strains of staphylococci and streptococci

3.      Among Gram-negative bacteria that tetracyclines usually have in vitro and vivo activity against, include Bordetella spp., Brucella, Bartonella, Haemophilus spp., Pasturella multocida, Shigella and Yersinis pestis.




Mycoplasmosi, blue-comb, Fowl cholera and enteritis

Calves, foals & lambs

Respiratory diseases, enteritis, navel-ill and synovitis.



Dosage and Administration:

For oral administration in the drinking water or as a drench.

Poultry:1 gm/ 3 litres of drinking water/3-5 days.

Calves, foals & lambs:            10-20  mg/ kg B.Wt. twice daily

Medicated water should be freshly prepared.

Precautions & Warnings:

Care with use in animals with renal or hepatic impairment.


Oral administration to ruminants with functional rumen; renal impairment and up to 4 weeks in neonates

Side effects:

May cause vomiting; diarrhoea; photo-dermatitis.

Withdrawal Period

Calves:   Meat:            10 days

Poultry:  Meat - 7 days

Eggs - 1 day

Packing: Plastic jars: 30,100, 250, 500, 750 & 1000 gm.
