Adwizole spray 1 % . (Spray)

 

Composition:
Each 100 gm contains:
Miconazole nitrate 1.150 gm equivalent to Miconazole base 1 gm.


Properties:
Adwizole (miconazole nitrate) Spray is a synthetic antifungal agent for use on dogs and cats.
The pharmacological mode of action of miconazole is that it impairs the synthesis of ergosterol, which is a vital component of the fungi cell membranes.
Once-a-day application


Indications:
Adwizole (miconazole nitrate) Spray is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections in dogs and cats caused by Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.

Dosage Administration:
Spray affected areas from a distance of 5 to 10 cm to apply a light covering, once daily for 2 to 4 weeks.
Medication must be continued until the infecting organism is completely eradicated.
Difficult cases may require treatment for 6 weeks.
General hygienic measures should be considered to control sources of infection or re-infection. Clipping of hair around and over the sites of infection should be done at the start of treatment and again as necessary.


Contra Indications:
1. The treatment should be discontinued if sensitization or irritation occurs.
2. Avoid contact with eyes, since irritation may result.
3. Wash hands thoroughly after administration to avoid spread of fungal infection.
